System programming
Correct programming is the difference between a system that disturbs and a system that saves.
We program the fire alarm systems we sell and service — from smaller systems to large, complex installations. Correct programming is the key to reliable operation and fewer false alarms.
Programming is based on the fire design and cause & effect descriptions, with I/O controls for smoke extraction, ventilation, door holders, lift controls and other safety responses. We finish with on-site testing and commissioning to confirm every control works correctly.
- ✓Cause & effect configuration
- ✓Controls for smoke extraction, ventilation and doors
- ✓Fine-tuning to minimise false alarms
- ✓Upgrades of older systems

Repairs and additions
System fault? Urgent call-outs are prioritised — we respond fast.
We offer rapid response to faults in fire alarm systems and service most fire systems in use in Iceland today. We also resolve fire-safety improvement demands following fire brigade inspections.
When premises change we handle additions and alterations: adding or moving detectors, updating zones, programming new equipment and updating overview drawings.
- ✓Fault reading, diagnosis and repair
- ✓Fire brigade improvement demands resolved
- ✓Additions: detectors, I/O, sounders, call points
- ✓Equipment relocation after layout changes

Annual inspections
Your system tested annually, with a formal inspection report — for you, the authorities and the insurer.
We make service contracts for the maintenance of fire alarm systems and perform annual inspections. The goal is to ensure the equipment works correctly, the system responds properly, and documentation exists for operations and inspections.
After each inspection the owner receives a formal report with results and suggested improvements — making follow-up simple.
- ✓Fire alarm system — inspection report
- ✓Fire alarm system — maintenance service contract
- ✓Sliding doors, smoke vents and fire curtains — function verified
- ✓Emergency and escape lighting — tested and documented

Fire system design
The right design from the start saves costly changes later.
Volt holds design certification for signalling, lighting and electrical systems (315 A). We design fire alarm systems with emphasis on correct equipment placement, economical implementation and operational reliability.
We work to applicable standards, including ÍST EN 54, in cooperation with clients and designers. The design reflects building use, risk assessment and operational needs.
- ✓System and equipment selection for each space
- ✓Detector placement and zoning proposals
- ✓Preparation of cause & effect controls
- ✓Coordination with ventilation, smoke extraction and fire doors

Emergency and escape lighting
Emergency lighting that shows the way out — inspected annually and always in order.
We have extensive expertise in emergency and escape-route lighting: annual inspections with a formal report, installation of new equipment, and renewal or maintenance of older systems.
We also make service contracts for emergency lighting, keeping annual testing and maintenance on a fixed schedule with full documentation.
- ✓Annual inspection of emergency and escape lighting
- ✓Service contracts
- ✓Installation of emergency and exit lights
- ✓Repairs of faulty equipment

Drawings
In an emergency everyone must find their way — correct drawings can be decisive.
We produce fire-safety drawings, including overview drawings for fire control panels and escape plans showing escape routes and fire equipment locations.
We also update drawings when premises or systems change, so documentation always reflects reality.
- ✓Overview drawings for fire alarm systems
- ✓Escape plans: routes, equipment, assembly point
- ✓Updates after changes to premises or systems
- ✓Digital delivery
